Hi guys,
As I am coming close to one of my favorite numbers in posts, I think it is time for a giveaway! I put it in this forum as it is survival related, and I spend most of my time here.
Here are the rules...
You must answer these questions...
1. What is the ONE knife you would trust your life with?
2. Why would you trust your life to this knife?
3. Please provide a pic of this knife in USE!
You have until the time I get 666 posts to enter! The winner will get a SAK sportsman. The only thing on it is I ask you to mod it once, and post pics! i already tried a mod on the nailfile that didn't work, but other than that, it is a good knife! I will draw a random number to pick the winner. And please, have more than 60 postsand be a member since 2007! Also, please have the mod help with survival/ bushcraft!

Good luck,
Joe

Cool giveaway!
I don't qualify to win but I'll say the One knife I'll trust my life with would be a RC-6 (don't own one - yet) but I base this on my experience with the rat-7

another good candidate would be my fallkniven s1

For me it would be my ScrapYard StreetScrapper4!
It is made from INFI, a steel that can take a serious workout,
not corrode easy, keeps it's edge long, and the size and mudder
grips fit so nice in my hand, pack, pocket, sheath...

good for when you gamble and win to much!
thanks for the chance and happy devils number! ;)

For me it is my Heavy Heart Fusion Steel Heart. I put my life in it's hands every Rescue Mission I go out on. It is durable, corrosion resistant (important in the PNW!) durable, fits my hand, durable, bush whacks with the best machette, oh, have I mentioned durable??

Here it is..

Here is a pic of me teaching a firecraft class during a Survival Weekend. You can see her on the ground next to me..

Thanks for the contest... Congrats on your milestone posts!

i would have to say out of all of my knives i would go with my modded machete:

seen with my other working fixed blade, the mora #1 with plain handle from leevalley.
the steel is tough, it was a chore to cut with a number of different methods.

i have put it through the wringer and it just keeps coming back for more after a few passes on the medium stone, or in bad case scendarios a few passes on the belt sander. in the past i have sharpened a part of the edge to a fine polish for whittling, and it did great. i have used it for chopping roots, chopping little logs (~4 inches), splitting small wood, slashing brush, and with a pole attachment i rigged up, as a mowing scyth.

it is hardly super steel, or a super grind, or anything particularly flashy, but it will sure get the job done.

i just can't wait until i can pull together the cash and pick up a real sturdy bush knife like a ranger or a RAT or custom scandi and see how they stack up against my cheaper tools in terms of cutting ability.

thanks much for the chance by the way, its much appreciated.

I have to say my modded cold steel bushman, After seeing it through he!! and back in Noss4's destruction test, and my own experience with it, I would certainly trust it to do anything.

Here's an old pic, showing it in use, er...as a paper weight.;)
Hope that doesn't disqualify me, daddy needs a new sak fix!:D
Dantor, I am guessing the 4 bucks american and the precious jewels are in the event of economic collapse? A few diamonds should be in everyones EDC.:)

Tough call, I've got a lot of blades that I really love. I like my RAT7, my 510, my M2K, my Tora bushcraft, my Fiskars...

But right now, if I had just one blade with me, it would be my KaBar Heavy Bowie. This thing is a brute and just keeps on going. I've been pretty rough with it, but the edge is still shaving my arm. It chops, it batons, and slices, it carves. Definitely a worth-while tool.

How are you deciding the winner, by the way?

Mine would have to be my Scott Gossman choil-less Mini-Tusker handles by Lonerider Grips. I have very many knives that I feel excel at myriad cutting chores but this one has proven to me to have the toughest most maintenance free edge thus far, and that to me can make all the difference in a survival situation.

Marcelo- That mini-tusker is really sweet, I've not seen that model before. I love seeing Scott's work in use! Looks like a wicked user.

Spooky, I'm still planning on doing the passaround, but I'm going to wait until this is over first!

Mine would have to be either my Busse Game Warden, or My Busse Combat Grade Bager Attack TAC. But I like the CG BATAC more so i will go with that.

Well a couple resons i would trust my life with the bad boy.

1. INFI :D
2. Its Busse
3. Made in USA
4. Already tryed to break it by prying, can't...
5.~almost rust resetant, or at leats no ptting.
6. Handle slabs are VERY confortable, and wont rot or "go down the drain"

wow this is more than a couple... :D

7.Keeps and edge for a VERY long time.
8. Easy to sharpen.
9. the fun of being a HOG. :D

I am very sorry, i dont have a camra, i dont even have a computer  :D but i hope this dosn't make a difference in if i win or not...

I have many but after seeing the destruction test on the CS G.I. Tanto, I would probably choose that. A real sturdy foolproof 23.00 knife that held up to the best others tested. I also have the Bushman which stood up almost as well. From What I have tried with it so far the new Helle Lapland would take on any task as well. The action picture will have to wait a few more days until a little more snow melts.:D
