6x48 belts

I have a lot of 6x48 belts, but the berryings went out and i have a 4x36 sander.
has anyone try to cut there belts off and glue then back. to fit the smaller size sander.
if so what kind of glue did you use, and what was the procedure that you used, as well as how did they turn out.
i know you can split them but dont know about the other way.

Can't be done. The glue that is used is a special glue that is kept on dry ice until use. It takes special equipment. Sell the belts on the for sale forum (or ebay) and purchase the right size you need.
