Which would you pick?
Fehrman First Strike or Ranger RD7 or Swamp Rat Ratweiler? or?
 
Ratweiler, In my opinion best bang for the buck of the three with the RD running a very close second. I think the Fehrmans are over priced personally. I have a Ratweiler on order and just traded my RD9 for a 7. The RW is very versatile and Swamp Rats proprietary heat treat and differential hardening of this blade is hard to beat. Too bad they have been discontinued and can only be had on the secondary market now. So in all actuality the price is closer to the Fehrmans. So now that I think about it maybe the RD's are the best bang for the buck.
 
I have to disagree about the Fehrman knives being overpriced. They are of the upmost quality and use great materials (3V steel, Micarta, and the finishing is second to none). I used to own a Final Judgement, and I still would if I hadn't fallen on some tough financial times. Fehrman Knives are SPECTACULAR!
 
If the question is in regards to a strictly using knife, I'd go with an RD7. Its a knife that was made to be used.
