were they used mostly for icepick grip stabs to mail, or was it used underhand, also? Just curious. It is such an elegant design. I, too, want to get that style of armor piercing tip correct. I want to copy the Guttmann Gladius at some point, and it has a similar but somewhat different point (since it is double-edged).

It is my understanding that it's used similar to a jambiya-reverse grip hooking , thrusting and cuts.
These work reeeaally well with a forged central rib and t-spine.
That is a very, very nice shape btw.
