im attempting to rehandle an old case trapper. actually make 2 slim knives out of it. originally i ordered 1/8" pins - too big. then 3/32"- too small. so i guess my last option is 7/64. i tried sanding down the 1/8 pins to fit and it didnt go so hot and in my own searches nothing came up for this size pin. any help is great! thanks! -CB

Can you drill the holes out to 1/8" and use your 1/8" pins?

Chuck,

How did you attempt your sand job? The reason I ask is that I've had this same issue before with needing an odd sized pin. I solved it by chucking up 1" sections of pin stock in my drillpress and using a combination of filing and sanding the pin while it spins. It actually worked pretty slick for me.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, sounds like you need a "lathe".

Do you have a drill press and a decent vice that you can clamp down? The ability to grind a lathe tool in some sort of steel? Then you don't have a problem. Just be sure to take light cuts.
