is SMKW eknifeworks.com ?

I see the navigator is $30?
I think I'm going to be sick:barf:

I bought one and paid much more. The one I got is in VG-10, but I wish I would have got on in GIN-1 for $30 instead.

God, don't tell my wife how much they are. I would never hear the end of it.

I just bought a Shabaria for a hundred bucks! They've got 'em for 45! At least you're not alone pahl! :barf:

Now if someone can find me a new Spyderco Mouse for $24.95 I will feel better :D :) :D

Just got the Calypso Jr. for $24.99. :) This is now the sharpest thing that I own. An incredible slicer and a nice size to take to work. Have to go back and check out the Navigator.

Hmm... my next purchase may be coming sooner than anticipated.
Those prices are extremly tempting

Thanks for the tip! I just ordered a navigator and a dyad jr. Getting transferred to downtown DC so I need some smaller spydercos to carry at work.

I'm sort of bummed that they now have the plain-edged Ayoobs at $44.95 - I was thrilled to buy the Spyderedged Ayoob at $49.95 a few months back, but I much prefer the plain edge.

Drat!

Guess I'll just have to buy another one!

I just ordered a shabaria, and a PE Ayoob to compliment the SE one that I have.:D

Hmmm...so did I, got the SE Ayoob from SMKW a few weeks ago, and a bargain on the Calypso Jr as well.

Great minds may not think alike, but it's nice to have an assortement of priced-right Spyderco's to choose from, innit? ;)

Be careful with some of the "great deals" you get there. I have bought ones in the past on the "closeout" that ended up being defective, either by finish, lockup, or blade grind. A few have been, the jot-sing khalsa (all three I bought!), handles were dinged up, scratched, an endura (2ea), lockup very loose, four standards in G-10, all handles were cracked, one had really loose lockup, five jess horn lightweights, lockup was bad on all but one. Now you think I would have learned my lesson, but I have now, it just took a while. If any of you remember the wayne goddard lightweights they were selling a little over a year ago, many of these were defective to the point that almost all were returned to them, (dont ask how I know) so be careful, smokie is known to sell seconds. they many times, by admonition of someone who works there, not going to say who, told me that when they get a second if they feel it doesnt look to bad will sell it as a standard product, but on a "closeout" price. Not knocking on those guys, just be warned. some of you may not mind buying a "second" product, but I do. I think buying a factory knife has its natural drawbacks, (finish, ect.) but Im talking about rejects from the factory.

I beg to differ. I've ordered a number of Spydercos from SMKW with no problem. These include Standards, Rookies, and Goddard Lightweights. Like rev_jch, I did have a problem with a Jot Sing Khalsa, but I contacted Spyderco and was told that a number of those knives had problems with the liner lock, regardless of where they were sold. If you do get a "second," chances are SMKW or, at the very least, Spyderco, will make it good.

I bought a Calypso Jr. lightweight SE (wish they had had the PE!) from SMKW at the closeout price a few months ago, and it was perfect. I just ordered 3 more to give as gifts. Based on your warning, rev_jch, I will carefully check each one after I receive it. Hopefully they will be as nice as the one I already have. But if not, I'll return or exchange them.

I have ordered a Jot Sing Khalsa for myself and a Wayne Goddard lightweight for my brother-in-law from SMKW and both were perfect. I ordered the Howard Viele and the Ayoob folders this time. Hopefully they will be here in a couple of days. I'll let you guys know as to the condition of the knives when they arrive.

I ordered a Viele too. Was happy to see plain edge at that price. I almost paid twice that about a year ago. Glad now that I waited. I've handled a Viele at a show before and was impressed by the smoothness of this design.

I hope I didn't jinx myself by claiming good results from SMKW in the past. But if my Viele isn't up to par, it'll be going back for an exchange. The folks there are pretty good about customer service. If you're ever near Sevierville, TN, be sure to stop by the showroom.

pahl, their URL is www.eknifeworks.com And the sale-priced Navigator IS in VG-10 according to the catalog.

The website is a bit clunky at times though, and they've dropped in terms of the quality of their internet specials. I used to buy their "weekly specials" all the time.

first, not all they sell are seconds, only some.I agree they will make it right!!! they'll refund you!! personally, Im all about truth in advertising!! Im happy for you that you have had good results. In no way am I knocking on these guys, I was only trying to say "buyer beware". and as for the showroom, its beautiful!! my family has a home down the road in wears valley.

Got my navigator and dyad jr today. Both are perfect! By the way Pahl, my navigator came in VG-10 and not Gin-1 as advertised. I could not be happier! Get yours now.
