As the title explains I have $70.00 on an Amazon gift card to spend on any knife. I actually have $60.00, but I have given myself a $10.00 threshold to make sure I can get what I want. Currently I own a Spyderco Delica4 in British Racing Green with ZDP-189 steel, and a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in CPM S30V steel, black G10 with Satin Clip and full flat ground. According to my research on Amazon, $70.00 is not quite enough for a Benchmade 556 Mini Griptilian, so I am looking for something else that might fit the bill. I am looking for a great EDC, Made in America, Sturdy, Very Carry-able, and easy to throw in the back pocket. Please advise, and also keep in mind I have been saving $5.00/week for a Case Sodbuster, and should have enough for it after my next paycheck. Thanks!

I was going to suggest the Delica but you've got that covered. For another $10 or so you could find a Manix 2 lightweight or Native 5. Both are US made, both Spyderco. I wouldn't bother with the mini Griptilian - I have one, and would recommend getting something else instead.

Buy an Endura. USA company, anyway, and you won't regret it. You can also get a Kershaw Blur for that money. Nice knife, made in USA. The Buck Vantage Pro or Force with S30V would be great choices, too.

I would say just to wait until you see a knife that you really dig. Read the forums, surf Youtube, and you will find a knife sooner or later that really does it for you. There is nothing wrong with sitting on that Amazon card until the feeling hits you.

Make sure that you check used stuff, especially listed under Amazon Warehouse Deals. I've bought numerous brands of knives through Warehouse Deals at significantly reduced prices because the packaging was a little dorked up.

Hands down - the Delica, in ZDP if you can, else VG10.

For rear pocket carry, the PM2 and larger knives won't 'disappear'. I front-pocket carry my Delica ZDP and sometimes forget it's there.

This is the best advice.

The Kershaw 1660CBBW Blackwash Leek with composite blade has a nice slim profile for easy carry and is USA made.

I suggest caution when buying from some third party sellers. You can filter the listings to only those sold by Ambazon, if desired. Enjoy the hunt!

You already have really great tastes and choice in terms of your existing EDC's. The Blur in Elmax or s30 is a FANTASTIC choice. But being how you have awesome moderns already if it were me, I would go with the Boker Plus USA Urban Trapper (flipper, Ti handles, VG10 blade) or a Case Trapperlock. A whittler size knife would also be very handy as you seem to like traditional and modern!

I would buy an ESEE Avispa and an Ontario RAT 1, but that's just me. These two knives are "more rugged" than Spydercos IMO. I have an Endura 4 VG10, but I don't think it is worth what I paid for it. again that's just me. You can buy both the ESEE and Ontario for $70 and have two tough, sharp, smooth action knives.

Like others have said, the Blur is a great choice in that price range. It would be a much more heavy duty user compared to the Delica.

There can be only one:

The Buck Marksman

Wow woke up to some seriously sound advice! I'm gonna re-read through this thread and look at every knife recommended. Thanks for the words folks!

I like the buck marksman, but I really like the kershaw piston, and the boker is interesting, although maybe not strong enough for what I will use it for, primarily cutting down and opening boxes. In any case, I ordered a Sod Buster Jr. in yellow CV, so I will wait for that to arrive and keep an eye out for something that really pops in the mean time.
