70 Candles for Waynorth on the 16th of Sept.

Happy Birthday Charlie!! :) Thanks for all of the GREAT contributions you have made on this forum & for traditional knife enthusiasts everywhere. I'll have one for you when I get home :very_drunk:

Wowza! Thanks for all the wonderful comments, and, for carrying one of my knives today, everyone!! This is the best community I know!!
Happy 14th to your son as well, Peter!!

What to do on my birthday?? The whole family is taking me to my favorite Greek restaurant for dinner - I think I'll have Calamari Skaras! (pics to follow!)

I am going to wear my biggest pants today, with them suspendered up to my armpits, just to hold all the knives I'll be carrying (not to get my kids/grandkids laughing you understand!):D
My ugliest black shoes and bright white socks, and a plaid shirt to top it all off!
Then I am going to drive slowly around in my old truck, with the left turn signal clicking! What hat should I wear? Fashion has never been my forte'.
:D:D

This is so awesome! Happy birthday from Italy Charlie. I love your attitude, it made me laugh out loud in a silent room and my wife looked at me weird...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE!! i hope you have a great day! thank you for everything i have learned from reading your posts, and everything you do for the knife world.

Que to Pertinux: Can you find the old picture of Charlie wearing the Propellar Beanie? It was Rendezvous 2013. I think it would be appropriate!

Hmmm, I don't know that I ever captured one?

From the archives:

... The (Rendezvous) thing being, Blaine was going to show up in his sneakers and who-knows-what, and Charlie was going to wear his propeller beanie. I thought my grown-up hickory-striped Osh Kosh overalls and blue PF Flyers were just the ticket in such company. Then Blaine didn't make it :(, and Charlie located a propeller beanie but didn't wear it (saying, and I quote, "It's too small, so it would look silly").

I, however, followed through on Saturday, hickory-striped Osh Koshes and PF Flyers and all.

Before I learned that Blaine wasn't coming.

Er, ta da.

I'm still laughing at Charlie, he of the Mickey Mouse ears and-- later-- caveman sheepskin proclaiming that he woudn't put on a propellor beanie because (and again I quote), "it would look silly."

Thanks for the reminder! :D

Happy birthday, Mr. Waynorth. With how much you accomplish I've had to alter my viewpoint on culture. I have always been under the impression that artistic genius usually leads to a short, albeit brilliant, life. Congratulations on defying the odds and reaching another milestone, Mr. Campagna.

That propeller beanie still sits in GEC's factory store! Some of you may have seen it on the back shelf!
I even tried it on - it's still too small!
:D

Sarah, you would be someone else if you didn't wear your OshGoshes to the Rendezvous!!;)

Congrats on making it this far Charlie!! I'm only half way there, so I know that some day my collection "could" be as nice as yours! Have a great day my friend!!!

Happy Birthday Charlie!!

I can't think of a better ambassador for traditional knives, keep up the good work!

Happy birthday Charlie!! I hope you had a fantastic day!!! Along with those candles I'd say 70 standing ovations are in order as well. You are an irreplaceable knife seer/showman/philanthropist! To say we're all lucky to have you as a friend would be the understatement of the year.

So when are we going to see your birthday presents Charlie?! ;) :D

Hope you had a great time my friend

Jack
