*****Reduced to $60*****
This is my first post in this area, so I belive a breif intorduction might be in order. My name is Brendan Gausvik, I got into knife making a little while ago, making alot of knives from scrap metal and such. I haven't got into making all my own blades yet (as is the case below), but it will probably only be a matter of time. My main interested is traditional nordic and early american style knives.

Okay, on to the more important stuff. The knives below are built around blades made by Karesuando in Sweden. They are high carbon steel ( I am not sure of the exact make-up, but I can probably get it if need be) and are around 57Rc. Blades have drop points and scandinavian grinds. Sheaths on both knives are built around plastic liners. The more traditional thing to do would be to carve a wood liner, but I would be concerned about the wood retaining water and getting moldy and what-not. Sheath is treeted with beeswax and has an intigral firesteel loop on the back (it isn't visible in the pictures, but I can get a picture if anyone wants to see one).

Asking $70 60 each, to your door (assuming that your door is in the lower 48. If it isn't shipping will be more)

Knife number one has a maple handle with a satine spacer and brass pin and fittings. Overall length is about 8 inches. (towards the end of the handle, on the top there is a small black spot where I sanded down to some epoxy, it wont affect function in the least, but I figured I should mention it)

Number two has a purple heart handle with an oregon myrtle spacer. It is slightly shorter at about 7.5''. Very comfortable in hand. WE'll call this one Sold

Paypal and MO or both fine, I'll pay paypal fees. Post here and PM me if you want one/both.

Thanks,
Brendan

Hey Brendan;
Welcome to the Forum. You are going to like it here; the fellows accept any level of talent in knife making and are encouraging as you develop your skills. Be careful about this hobby though it gets consuming.
Nice knife and sheath!
Gerry

Yep them are Nice Knive's ! You did a Real Fine Job on the Handle's and the Sheath's, Great Work you got them looking Good,

They look great Brendan. Already enjoy using mine and I only just got it :eek:

PS, your name freaked me out being in orange when I first saw it.

I like your work. The Puukko knives are my favorite for both use and their classic lines. I also buy my blades and focus on the handles and sheaths.

I am confident you will sell a lot of blades. You might consider adding a note with each knife you sell about the history and proper use of these knives (since there is no guard).

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome everyone :)
