700 series love and happiness thread

This series was discontinued in 2000 and the last 703's went thru the factor in 2002.
A good knife series gone. You'll have to locate them somewhere else. DM

Thanks was hoping there might be a dealer registered on here that sells discontinued/second hand models - there no hope of me tracking one down in the UK....

I’m digging up an old thread on purpose. We haven’t talked about the 700 series lately, and there are some pictures of rare birds in this thread. Are those ebony, burl, and bone 700’s factory?!

Please add your 700 series pictures here and we can make this the one-stop-shop for 700 history.

For a short time, Buck made the 700 series with brass bolsters and shields. Mine are date stamped 1986 and 1987, and Joe Houser said there were 1500 of each produced.

Gorgeous!

Thanks for bringing this thread back! Here's my 1989 703, bought new that year.

The 700 series was not on my radar for some reason. I'm sorry I missed it. I did do some trolling in the bay yesterday to see what was around. I may have to cast a line and see if I catch anything. I'm really liking the flat design. Seems really well shaped for watch pocket carry. Something to hang on to. I don't need another knife of course, but this design really intrigues me. Thanks for pulling this up from the depths of the forum and shedding light on this series.

I thought I had a decent collection of 700 series. Then someone on Facebook showed me his collection. Now I have to stand corrected. This guy's collection was amazing. There were a lot of private customs in it, however, which I haven't pursued.

So many knives, so little time!
