hi all, while i already own a set of 8 in. 701 profiles i recently picked up an identical set including the suede leather holders but they are 4 inch. i havent seen them in this size before. are they still made ?? looked at spydercos catalog but only see the 8inch.anyone??

I also have a pair of 4" stones like the Pro-Files. I suspect mine were Pro-File seconds that had been cut in half. I had to true them up and remove small lumps that were snagging the edge by lapping them on a diamond hone. Since then, they work well enough, and they are easier to carry than the 8" stones.
What you all have are sets of the older, discontinued 702 Profiles. They were discontinued from the main line up about 2 to 3 years ago. They are very handy. I keep a set of them in my tackle box and in my machinist's tool box. I sure hope that they never discontinue the 701 Profiles. They are a very important tool in my sharpening tools.
