710 or manual presidio

Of all my BM's, I carry the 710 the most, by far. It's just an excellent design, easy to carry, beautiful and effective blade (long too), silky smooth opening/closing...
I have no firsthand knowledge of the Presidio, so I can't comment there. But you can't go wrong with the 710.

I agree, excellent knife all the way around. :)

I had a 0200 that failed spine-whacks. This was as the knife had zero blade-play. Take that as you like. Also, the knife is a monster. Bulky and heavy. It also screams, "weapon!". -The grip is very good and it rides low in the pocket.
I've had several 710s and never had any blade-play issues that couldn't be easily corrected to zero play while still offering very smooth openning. The knife has very good blade/handle ratio, great steel, and near perfect size/weight/thickness. It's single down-fall is grip security if you were to need to stab or use it wet.
I currently have a 525 and it's a great knife. The Presidio folders are highly underrated in my opinion. The aluminum and it's pattern make for a great grip on these knives. Benchmade does 154cm well, but not as good as d2. The full-size 520 has a bigger handle and less blade than the 710. Both are very good general use blade shapes.
I believe the 520 and 525 (aluminum versions) are discontinued, so that's the knife I'd pick. Think they make them now with something like zytel/440c.
Also, I've owned pretty much at least one axis locking knife since they were introduced and never had one fail in any way, including the springs. -You wont convince me to have any faith in a liner-locking knife. I trust the axis. ymmv.

I'll have to go against the majority and recommend the Presidio.

I liked the first one I got so much, I bought a second.

To me, it feels like it is built like a tank, stout and strong. It feels substantial in hand.

I carry either a Presidio or 943, depending on mood or probable usage. If there's any chance/need of heavier use, the Presidio is the go-to folding knife for me.

Of course, if there is planned heavy use, I will always choose a fixed blade.
