I'm looking into buying knife for $75 or less shipped, and I'm wondering what suggestions you guys have. I just want it to be a folder with a 3.5" blade max, and if there is a pocket clip, I want it to be not too noticeable. Blade steel is a big consideration, so the better the steel the better the knife.

So far, I'm looking at the Fallkniven U2 and the A.G. Russell 4" folder. The Fallkniven U2 has the better steel, but I like the size and handle on the A.G. Russell better, so I'm leaning towards it. What else should I be considering?

The U2 doesn't have a pocket clip.

You can't go wrong the A.G. Russell. If you like that knife...buy it.

Also, look at Kershaw. You can pick up a 1660TSW Random Leek for well under $75. You should also consider the G-10 Leeks with S30V.

Get a spyderco endura wave, that thing will scare people. :D
Honestly, look at the exchange forums to give you some ideas. That's a good place to start.

You could get a Griptilian in 154CM for that price.

Good steel. Good design. Not sure how stealthy the pocket clip is.

Yeah, the BM555HG looks like a good knife. I would prefer the size of the mini-Grip over the Griptilian.

Benchmade 555HG mini-grip

$50.00-60.00 on the Bay
154CM steel
2.91" modified sheepsfoot blade
Axis-lock
ambidextrous low riding clip
Made in the USA

Well, now it seems to be $60-$65 shipped from the bay. I had a blue one before, but I didn't like the color so I traded it for a Native, which I just traded for something else. I'll be getting the black this time, if I do decide to get a mini-grip.

13C26 is definitely not better than VG10, at least not across the board. I'm not interested in any Kershaws right now. No assisted opening for me.

Spyderco Delica with ZDP-189 steel (or the Endura if you want to go bigger)
Spyderco Salt 1 / Pacific Salt with H1 steel - if you spend a lot of time around water
The Griptilian is also nice

I second the Delica/Endura in Zdp, it's suppose to have great edge retention, I have one on the way : )

You could get 2 Browning Icestorms for that price & have some left over.

3.25" razor sharp VG10 blade.Deep pocket clip.Comes in a few different colors too.

you can pick up a NEW Spyderco UK Pen Knife on evilbay for that!!! It's pretty hard for me to resist buying another one at that price! Otherwise, the Benchmare grips or even a Presidio Ultra would be in order... The Spyderco Delica is also a GREAT option, and the Only reason I don't mention it first is the non USA make... but it is my favorite knife, all things considered.

Well, if not into Kershaws, and your wanting good steel for under $75 about the only thing that comes to mind is the Grips and Enduras.

Whether you think Kershaw's 13c or 14c is or isn't as good as VG-10 it's still a good steel non-the-less. Especially at the price point. I would seriously look into the RAM anyway. It's not AO, the clip is unassuming, and I've been impressed with the edge retention. Also, I think Kershaw may be moving to a RAM II that is made in China so the current RAMs maybe somewhat of an investment.

those few users haven't spent enough time with VG-10 apparently.

Um... on the contrary, they're quite acquainted with it. Dog of War and some other user, I forgot his name were the first to say it publicly. Dog of War did cutting tests with the same edge angle on both (I think they were both reprofiled) and the 13C26 quite fairly beat Spyderco's VG-10.

But, as always.... YMMV ;)
