755 Disappointed

I've been carrying my Benchmade MPR for a few weeks now and have no gripes about it. The lock does disengage with very light pressure but so do many other folders. The lock-up is superb and I wouldn't worry about it closing prematurely on me. I thought the bulkiness was odd at first but now I don't even notice it. The MPR is a solid folder and well worth the asking price.

I like mine and can easily open it with one hand, it came hair shaving sharp, lock is solid, and yes it does delock easy, clip is tight, the design of this knife is to be a stout 50 state legal carry I thought? I have recently bought a Bone Collector, for a the priced I paid shipped very nice knife.

Got my MPR today and really like it. Like others the lock detent is soft, but that is it. F&F is great, super grippy which I happen to like. Stout folder, will be a great addition that I will carry with pride. Congrats to Shane and Benchmade.

I just looked at a 755 at the knife shop. I checked it over carefully to look for the marks, but it was overall excellent fit and finish. However, I did notice the really loose feel to the lock when disengaging. I could see that they made it very thin in the cut out. Using the half g-10 scale as a lock bar stop in place of a hinderer is interesting. I was surprised to see that it wasn't too small a grip. The thumb studs were a PITA to use when opening for some reason. It's not one I will buy, but overall it looked like a very well made, fun, stubby tank.

I must have really lucked out with the MPR I got. Fit and finish is flawless, blade is perfectly centered and the lockup is right on the money.

This is the first Benchmade I've been interested in enough to actually follow it's progress from rumor to fact , I appreciate folks being honest about the knife they purchased.

I've had a few framelocks that disengaged easier than I like , either you fix it by adding more tension , sell the knife , or learn to live with it , I think most of the time it's psychological that it's going to close on ya. :D

Tostig

oh yea , I still plan on getting one of these , maybe by time I do most of the bugs will be worked out :)
