Just newly acquired the Vicar 757. Awesome stout blade. I have been fond of my 755 and wanted something bigger and the 757 fit the bill. For a larger blade it is incredibly smooth and quick. With a slight push with on the thumbstuds and the blade snaps soundly in place. There is no movement in vertically or laterally. I haven't field tested it yet but it is very secure in the hand with the help of the rough G10, thumb ramp and jimping. Although the jimping looks rough it doesn't feel uncomfortable. The gold anodized titanium liners are very thick to the point it seems like a frame lock.

Does anyone have an Adamas 275 and a Vicar? I would love to see comparison shots and experiences.

I agree the Vicar is an awesome knife. One of the 2015 standouts for sure, Along with the Loco as far as stout heavy duty capable knives.

I was blown away when I first got my hands on one. Incredible pivot, smooth but with a tangible resistance. It feels more like a Sebenza than the 761. And a carbidized lockface? Benchmade did good.

I'm with you. At some point down the line funds allowing I wouldn't mind picking up a second one if I can.

That's how much I like and am impressed with the 757.

Like I said, one of the 2015 standouts for sure!

I forgot all about this knife, there was a dry spell with knives for a while as I couldn't find anything I really liked. Thanks for the reminder. :)

Still amazed by the Vicar and it has kicked out all my other EDCs. Now I've got to sand down G10 under the clip to prevent the shredding of my pockets.

RevDevil, the funny thing was that I didn't plan to get the Vicar. I was in my local knife store looking to pick up a Yojimbo but they had sold out. The store manager offered a deal I couldn't refuse on the Vicar.

Feel free to share your positive or negative experiences with your Vicar. If any of you have the Adamas and the Vicar let me know how these knives compare.

I love the unexpected bargains, very rare to get them around here as most stores sell at MSRP, which is 20% more than what MAP is. I'd have jumped on that deal too.

traded my 757 for a NIB 275. Why? The 757 has the roughest most pocket tearing G10 Ive ever seen on a knife. Seriously its like petrified velcro be ready for that I wasnt. Much happier with 275

I like coarse G10, Just loosen the tension on the pocket clip a little and you are good to go. Or you can have CF inserts made. The 275 is an amazing knife, I agree.

Side by side with a 910 Stryker I had posted previously:

Does the Vicar have an internal stop-pin or does it effectively use the liner-lock in both directions? I can't see one in the bottom pic, but maybe it's just lighting?

Yes, it has a rather large stop pin that is right behind the tang of the blade, however it's black and probably why you can't make it out in the pic.

Yes the G10 is very raspy and is very rough. For this reason I have just carried it in the pocket until I smooth out the surface under the clip with my dremel.

The 757 actually has two stop pins. One for the closed position and one in the open position. Like 755 it also has the hexagonal stop pin in the open position so that you can adjust it as the lock bar wears in.

Thanks for the responses, but does anyone has a comparison picture between an Adamas and a Vicar? Side by side pics would be best!

I finally have a 757 on order. It should get here Wednesday or Thursday and I am stoked! Anybody have more pictures they can post up to make the wait more difficult? :D

Whoa, that Gold Class is sweeeet. Thanks for the pics, Pbcg; and yes those pictures make the wait more difficult :D

This thing is one smooth piece of machinery. Slick and chunky, solid "clack" open, muted closing -funny but it is probably the best sounding knife I possess. Great ergos, great edge, grippy green g10 layer, very good looking imo... not sure what else to add.:thumbup:

Comparison with most comparably-sized folder I have, CQC-13. F&F is greatly superior to the Emerson (no Emerson hate intended):

This is a very nice knife.:thumbup:
