This was a custom order, and the poor chap ended up owing the IRS this year, so had to back off. It feels really good in the hands, and balanced perfectly. The grind is special, it's a full flat grind, but it's thinned near the business end. Barely reflected light before sharpening, and you can just make out the edge bevel. Roman Landes, German knife maker and metallurgist, said it best, "Geometry cuts, heat treat (and steel) will determine how long." Well, this thing is gonna cut, my friend! Made from Aldo's 1084 Vanadium steel, it is extremely fine grained. The blade was fully normalized and thermal cycled for optimum performance, quenched in Parks 50 fast oil for max hardness out of the quench. This is an extremely high performance chef's knife, and is sure to become your go-to knife in the kitchen!
