Good morning Bladeforum's members. First one for today is a " Lanny's Clip " by John Lloyd.
Lanny's Clip by John Lloyd. The handle scales are ancient auroch horn. Tony Bose truly would be proud of John's rendition of his popular pattern.
Some notes on ancient auroch,from John," The last known auroch died in the late 1600's in Poland ,with the majority of wild oxen ( sometimes called) becoming extinct in the 1300's from over hunting. The scales on this knife are from eastern Europe. The auroch roamed from central Europe to China & southern Russia. An auroch,or wild ox,could weigh up to about 3000 lbs. "
Knife measures 3-7/8" closed,6-7/8" open. Blade is 3" with 2-5/8" of cutting edge. Blade & spring are Delbert Ealy Damascus,made up of O-1 , L-6 , and pure nickel. SS pins & mill relieved liners. Inlaid & pinned ss Bullocks shield. Pull is a smooth,perfect 5 to 5+. Blade centers closed,spring is flush in all half stop positions. Bolster , ss , radiused in the front with that perfect bevel that John sometimes does . A rich looking ,magnificent pocket knife by John,real nice one here. Knife will ship in a leather,fleece padded - zipper storage case.
