8:42???

Steelnut, I think your 9.55 email is the first I have heard of from the Bladeforums Go! It sounds like the first emails came from folks who saw the post at the home site first. You should be pretty early, either way.

OP sent off an 8:55 (9:55 his time) email. Of course, he was sending emails about every fifteen seconds. :p :D

Honestly, I also hit it at 9:55...

Just lucky. Happened to refresh at the right time on the Home Forum and caught a flash...hit e-mail bullet instantly.

Fortunately, only asked for a few knives.

Sounds like a bunch of 9:55 and no 8:42 unless it was scattershot?

Matches what I've heard! I think the Home Forum's clocks were messed up...pretty badly.

I'm as sure as I can be that Jerry's post popped up in the Home Forum during 9:55.

Of course, all that matters is the order in which your e-mail arrived...

I'll get my knives because Amy likes me best:D

As I was making dinner I passed by the computer and saw Jerry's post and sent in an email at about 7:00 PST. But I had another old crafty guy order some for me as well.

Exactly...I sent the email within seconds of Jerry's post yet my time stamp is 9.56.28....but that is only the time clock on my own computer :)

I think this is really the key. Each computer clock, and therefore email program is going to be slightly different.
My timestamp was 9:56:15, but could have been sent at the exact same time as someone who's computer timestamp read 9:56:28.
It really depends on how quickly the response came in real seconds to Jerry's post.

From what I understand, the transmission time for most emails is so fast that they should actually arrive in order--
assuming your email program does not hold your emails, and the Busse computers accept them individually as they register.
But....I'm not a computer whiz, I just play one on TV.

It popped up at the BCF first by about a minute or two because as soon as I saw it I shot the email and it was 9:54.
