It has been a while, but I finally got around to doing a new batch in carbon steel. Here is the first of those knives. It is an 8" Kiritsuke with a tapered tang, handled in stabilized box elder burl and amboyna burl. The liners are G10 with brass spacers, affixed with two brass corbys and a mosaic pin. I took the edge to an ultra thin 0.004" pre-sharpening, sharpened 20 degrees inclusive. Blade is hand finished to 600 grit satin. Heat treated by Peters to 61 HRC. The saya is quilted maple with hand carved blade relief and the retention pin is turned from the same amboyna burl as the handle. You're probably not supposed to say this kind of thing about your own work, but I think this might be the prettiest knife I've made to date:-) Wheelerknifeworks@gmail.com, please reply or email with any questions, thanks very much for having a look. $450 shipped.
