:D Well, I have been back for a couple hours..I finally got the energy up to download the pics. Here they are. I had a very good time..I didnt relax a whole bunch..I hiked my butt off..lots of great hills at this state park. I didnt test any knives..although I had a bakcpack full of them! I did use my new Coogler chisel ground 0-1..very cool little blade. I carried it cross draw in its kydex..it road around the whole day without a hitch..and it helped me to carve a few branches and the like. Overall..once I started moving..I just kept going..almost never stopping..once I decided on my route..I had to move or I wouldnt get in before dark.

Fenton Rd, top of BallHill.

Here's a couple more. The Coogler is an interesting blade. I will have to test it more later. Gene

Nice pics. I'd like to hear more about how you like that bag.

I have one that I use without the bladder regularly because I just like the size of the bag.

Wish I could have joined you bro! Maybe next time, with a lil more notice I will.

Looks like you had a great time. I'm off every monday and Friday, let me know!

Well, the bag was a good size, carried everything I needed plus. It road well, and I never felt uncomfortable. The water bladder and tube were the kicker..I even have another NEW bladder that has been in my closet for years..one from Maxpedition. What I mean is..its a really fast and simple means of drinking water on the move. I carried an extra canteen..just in case. I have a small molly pack that could attach to the bottom..this would allow a 3 day hike, IMO. Overall, I am pleased to finally have a bag I can take out and enjoy..its been a while and quite a bit of money trying to find one.
Next time it will be the Maxpedtion S-type Jumbo Fatboy. I have it orginised, and ready to go. Gene

Hey man, that's only only 30 minuites from me! I've been there and it is quite the awesome maze of little trails and climbing. I hope the bugs weren't too bad.....

Nope, there was a breeze. I live east about 20 minutes. Gene

I have a MULE and it looks different than that. That one looks a lot bigger than the pack I have. Any idea on where to find that one?

Thanks for the review also.

I am also interested in the Mule. I carry a cheaper bag that is similar to it, but the Mule looks like it may hold a bit more.

Can you give a brief outline of what all you carry in yours?

Great pics!!

I will have to do a write up on the kit..but not tonight guys. I just got back from some serious Granfurs Bruks testing and a few other choppers..I am putting together a write up on that right now. I can say that I am no expert on bag and packs..but this one is much better than the Maxpedition bags I have owned. I tried the Falcon, and then the Condor..(which was a touch better) then a larger bag of a different brand..I believe CONDOR is the brand..bigger than this bag..but not very good quality. I have 2 external frame packs..one was given to me by Bearsbreath here on the forums and another that I bought at a flea market for $10. I have an Alice pack Large as well. I just got the Maxpedition Jumbo Fatboy..I like it, but havnt tried it out yet. I will let you all know what I think about that as well. Gene

cool pics gene.. that looks like a beautiful area... i would love to do some climbing there...:D

*rummages through his files*

I thought that rock looked familiar. There's a geocache not too far from there. :)
