I realize its a recently new model, but whats the cheapest anyone has seen one go for in the real world?

I looked there as you suggested. I did not see Benchmade which was my BM abbreviation in the title?

Marcinek is suggesting that you run down the list of Bladeforums registered dealers and look up the price at each.

thanks. just seems easier to have one of the many forum members if they have ever seen this rediculously over priced model steeply discounted anywhere yet!
thx

There's a gold class Foray with some special steel, I see for 680. But, gold class anything is high from BM.

Looks like the MSRP is $800 (according to Knifecenter), but I agree with the above BM Gold Class anything is expensive (that's why it's Gold Class ;) ), i've never owned a BM Gold Class, that kind of $ can get you into some very high end knives, they do look nice though.

I doubt that there is going to be a big run on them! Id like to see it discounted down to $400.
I’ve never even seen a limited run of this model.

Or maybe someone that sprung for one and is desperate for cash . . . Then Im your man!

If they DO ever sell one for that price, well... more power to them, I suppose!

So you are asking for a forum member to break the rules, by deal spotting, if the vendor isn't a supporting member?
Or
Asking them to do the work for you?

I have found out plenty of information while researching knives. I would have missed this andpotentially made a less informed decision due to that alone...

Why not look to see what differentiates the $800 version from the $200 version? That alone should narrow your search by quite a substantial amount.

If I am looking to buy a pickup truck, I don't buy the first price tag I see, especially if it is 4 times the cost of another comparable truck.
What separates a 2005 Tacoma two door two wheel drive from a 4x4 long bed 4 door Tacoma aside from about $35k?

Something has to justify the cost differential. Start there.

expidia1 expidia1 , as M marcinek and NJBillK NJBillK have both suggested you would do well to familiarize yourself with knife buying/pricing options by doing some research yourself. You will find that going to Benchmade's site will always yield the MSRP for any knife, which you would be foolish to pay. You'll also find with Benchmade and several other companies that use MAP (Minimum Advertised Pricing) or similar maximum discounting policies, that the knife will be available at pretty much the same discounted price anywhere.

Bladeforums rules prohibit deal spotting by referring to dealers that are not registered at BF. Registered dealers pay a substantial fee to advertise here and their dollars provide a big chunk of the operating costs of this forum.

If you stick around here, read, and do some research before posting you will develop some friendships and gain some knowledge beyond "what's easier". If you do that and decide to become a paying member to likewise help support this forum, your new friends will be able to PM you helpful information not appropriate to General Knife Discussion threads.

I love my Foray (standard model) and I kind a like this one but DAMN! That's a lot of dollar bills.

that a lot better than $800! I was talking to BM C/S this AM and asked her how that model is moving. she said they are moving well (what else would she say).
she said though the rep next to her has one and he keeps flaunting it in front of her. I said what does he drive a Ferrari... haha
