Hello Everyone,
I have a hunter with 800 layers of random laminate. It is made from 15n20 and 1075. The fittings are copper, wrought iron, and mild steel. The wood is koa with a superglue finish, followed by Ren Wax.

The blade is just under 5" long, and the handle is over 4". The blade is .13" at the ricasso on the spine side, with a distal taper. This is a blade that is shaped for use, even though it is pattern welded.

This one is $280, with free shipping inside Con US.

thanks for looking.

It is what you would probably guess. You put several coats of superglue over the handle after it is sanded to 600 grit. Sand while each coat is wet with 600 grit. Then, when you have built up enough to fill all of the voids with wood dust and superglue, and a thin layer over the outside of everything, sand it to 800 and then 1000 grit. It is durable, more water resistant, and also looks good because you can see the variation in wood grain better. It looks a lot like a long-term buildup of tung oil, only it is harder and gives the wood an acrylic shell.

you can go all out with this, and put 15 or so layers, and have an acrylic shell that is obvious, but I like the subtle one more for this knife.

thanks,

Kevin
