I picked up three of these recently, all finished the same and, by all accounts, genuine swinden key assembled Schrade USA 80Ts.
I've tried to determine the story behind them but have come up empty handed. I'm now wondering if they were 2003-2004 ish production/prototypes.
Well, more questions than answers has led me here seeking answers.

So, what say you, Schrade experts et al.?

I have seen two other examples just like yours and have made these notes in my files: "Original tan and black box with red “A SHARP IDEA,” stripe and 8OT RB stamped on end flap. Care instructions flyer and plastic bag also enclosed. This is a new un-used knife. Estimated date of manufacture 2000 to 2004."

I can't offer you help with your question, but I'll be sure to follow this thread. Those are REALLY nice!

The 1983 bolsters stop me from thinking they were made before 1990 and not 2000 to 2004.
The 1985 Red Bone knives, came in indivigial Brown Boxes, and were stamped 8OT RB - on a white tag.
My humble guess would be 1983-85.
