810DLC-1602 | Forum Knife 2016

Per the tracking mine should arrive Monday. Most excited I've been about a knife in a long time!

When the 810 first came out it instantly became my favorite currently in production knife. This newest version looks like the best yet. BM really nailed it!

Monday for me as well lol.. :)

This one is special for the home members, a small group of us have been asking BKC for a carbon fiber LE for years now.. Can't wait to unbox them! A few have been delivered already to some members and they look awesome.

I wish I had been paying attention in August :)
CF dlc 810!!
I have two 810s (the standard M4 and the KW m390) - my favorite BM folders.
the forum special is pretty awesome looking.

I was following the (2016) Benchmade Forum Knife pretty closely, but decided to opt out. Honestly, it was great to see people join, collaborate/interact with BM, and get excited about the project. (Some folks got a little grabby towards the end, but that's to be expected with such a limited run.)
I opted out because it would have stretched my budget, but also for the following reasons:
- The 810 seems like a pretty big knife (haven't handled one yet though.) I'm a short guy with small hands, and just prefer smaller knives.
- The DLC, which by all accounts is flat-out better than Cerakote, I was happy to see--but less so on a stainless steel blade.
- I wasn't sure if the liners were skeletonized or not. I feel like skeletonized (or partial) liners complement carbon fiber handles in the weight-reduction department--unless that's impossible for manufacturing reasons of course.

All that being said, the 810DLC-1602 is one SEXY knife! I feel about it kinda the same way I react when I see a tall, beautiful lady: attracted but intimidated, and back to looking for a shorter woman to love. (Cripes, that metaphor almost turned into a personal ad. Embarrassing.) :D

Every so often BM really hits one out of the park. This knife is one of those times!

P_Meticulous: Thanks for the clarification! (and fantastic pics as always)
Also, the DLC seems to have a nice sheen about it--based on the photos at least.

nice photos!
We are getting a much better idea of what we missed out on :) (those of us who were asleep at the wheel)
