As always, I appreciate the opportunity to list this hand made 8670 drop point knife with custom leather sheath. I call this a mid-duty blade at almost 7.5 " OAL and 3 3/16 cutting length in tough 8670 at 25 degrees/side sharpening but at a 0.135" stock thickness. Design inspirations were the Pohl Prepper-1 and Kodiak Muela

The handle is Richlite which is a paper (pulp) based material used in kitchen counter tops, cutting boards, knives, and guitar making. I like the natural colors and increased grip when wet. It does change colors, whitens when dried out, darkens when oiled or wet.

Below are full specs and lots of pictures. Let me know any comments, questions, interest.

Nice one. Profile, handle shaping, finish, sheath all very nice.

I recently made a knife with Richlite and I am impressed with the way it feels, will be using more of it in the future.

This would be a great size for the outdoors, good grip even when wet with the richlite as described by the maker. I like the jumping too.

Is 8670 easy to sharpen?

The feedback I have received from several in the field is that 8670 has a good balance of characteristics. It is tough and can take a beating and is easy to touch up in the field.

This comes with an acid etch so already has a dark patina. They do patina more in time, some like that look. Here is one after some real-word use with more of a patina.

Here are some reviews from Bushcraft USA on some 0.170" 8670. In one of the discussions, the user took a knife that I messed up on the design and ran it to full destruction per my request. It took some effort.
