I ordered a William Henry folder from 888KnivesRUS 10 days ago. I selected next day air because I was in a hurry.

Several days go by, and no knife.

I've sent them emails (orders@888knivesrus.com), and no response. I tried to call them (1-904-733-0060), but got an answering machine that said "no messages are waiting" and then hung up on me.

I can accept it if the knife is in short supply, but please don't let me select a $26 shipping option on a knife you don't have, please let me know what is going on with my order, and, good grief, get an answering machine that actually will take messages.

grrr

That really take me by suprise to hear this. I just placed an order last week and had it in two days .

Has your credit card been charged?? I would try calling them again tomorrow. Best of luck

Yes, I've been surprised as well. Part of the reason I ordered from them has been the positive feedback on them in these forums in general, and your feedback specifically:

But your order was 10 days ago and my feedback was only 3

No matter, I am sure everything will work out:)

uh, that's because I'm an idiot.

Yours was the post I read after I started to worry about my order that made me feel better. Not the post I read that made me feel good about ordering from them in the first place.

William Henery Knives are in short supply. I have only seen 2 or 3 Black and Tan in over a year.
We are in the start of putting up a new site and shopping cart.
We do not have our inventory on line, so we may be out of some things when an order is placed.
And if we do not have a certain knife when it is ordered, we most of the time will have it the next day.
But with the WH knives all bets are off.
I thought I called and talked to you "gaben" on the phone about this order and told you we did not have any of these WH. And that when I got any in you would get the first and with Free Shipping. If that was not you I talked to I am sorry. We have not charged you for the knife or the next day shipping. And the deal is still good.
Let us know how we can make you happy.:)

Thanks for the response. That wasn't me you spoke to, so it was probably my evil time-traveling doppleganger.

I'll give you a call tomorrow around 10:00 am PST to figure out what to do with the order.

Thanks again, Gabe

I spoke with gaben earlier and explained the difficulty in getting many of the William Henry line. I explained that we could hold the order as we never charge before shipping and keep looking for it. I also suggested he may want to call around as he may find someone with it in stock, which he did later today. The email problems were probably when we turned on our new web site and had some trouble with the email forwarding.

crossman177, why guess? On what basis did you come to your conclusion that we pre-order? Anyone in the US can call our toll free number to check stock or availability, and our new cart will even allow the customer to log in and change or cancel their own order until we move it from a recent status, to a pending status. We stock quite a bit of inventory for a small web store and most of the items we carry are readily available (1 business day for most stuff) even if we are out of stock. So next time before guessing and tarnishing our good name, you are welcome to call toll free and find out for yourself what kind of service we provide.

DC Williams (aka Suds)

William Henry is probably the most difficult "production" line to get ahold of right now. Last I heard there is a 3 year wait on their knives at a dealer level

DgrantD, you can check out pictures of these knives here at the William Henry web site. No these are not McHenry & Williams knives.

One thing that I would like to add; for what I have come to know of Suds over the years that I have spent on this forum, he would only work for an honest and ethical company. The fact that he decided to go work there says a lot about 888KNIVESRUS as far as I am concerned.

Anyones lucku to have William Henry knives in stock these days, WH is behind 8-9 months on production according to them even as a WH dealer it's hard to get the stuff in. Mostly the knives come in 10 or 12 here then 2 months later one comes in and so on you get the idea. Best way to do William Henry is call and check to see if it's in stock if the dealer doesn't keep it marked on their web-site. I have seen 888 around long enough to know they are not trying to screw anyone over, sometimes sheet just happens.

I agree with the other dealers. I gave up and removed them from our site early last year. Whenever I can buy a few, I just put them up singly on our "specials" page. Customers have no idea they can't actually buy a William Henry when they want it. If they see a handful of them on a specials page, at least they know there are a few available options. This approach hasn't hurt William Henry sales for us at all (since we can only deliver what we can get) and hasn't generated any customer problems either. That may be a good route for others to take as well. Just a suggestion. Guess I'll get busy on Monday and see if I can find a few. Take care.

Just regarding 888knivesrus, I've had a first class service from them when using them before but tonight I got a bit of a surprise. I brought an order as far as the checkout and went to register as a new customer due to their new website only to find they no longer accept international orders :(
I'm sure theres a very good reason for starting to do this so I sent a message as I'd love to continue to use them but I guess that'll be unlikely.
It's pretty dissapointing to find that a quality source such as them won't be shipping overseas anymore.

Anyway, due to this forum I'll just explain that 888knives are a great outfit and don't mean my post to bad or ugly, just it's unfortunate I can't use them anymore, and added to this thread as it was about them.

It is a real shame, but more and more companies are deciding not to sell overseas anymore. They find that there are just to many things that can go wrong and it just isn't worth the headache.

Please come back, we are changing but not to the bad or the dark side.
We will take orders the same as before now. I think DC got that fixed on our new site. If not email me or him.
You can still use Pay Pal.

Wow, thats great news about still being able to use Paypal. My father in law to be is having his 70th birthday quite soon & for some reason decided he wants a knife (better late than never) so I'll send a mail during the week to check what I fancy getting him is in stock.
Thanks for the reply and looking forward to continue doing business with you :)
