Hi all -
I am brand new to the forum and this is my first post, but thought i would share a buying experience. I ordered a knife from 888knivesrus on January 17th, 2013 and my account was charged on January 18th, 2013 for the purchase. I received a confirmation email from them. After two weeks i sent a request for a status update but received no reply. Over the next 4 weeks I sent 5 or 6 additional emails and received no response. I have called several times but there is only a recorded greeting and there doesn't seem to be way to leave a message.

Has anyone been able to contact them recently? There is a posting on the website "Ripoff Report" where someone indicated they had a similar experience, and called the local sheriff's department, who apparently checked the address and informed this person they are out of business.

Hello and welcome to Bladeforums. I'm moving your post to the Feedback forum.

Since you use the word "charged", I'm assuming you used a credit card. Have you contacted your card provider to file a charge back yet?

Yes I contacted the card issuer, they seemed more than willing to help. Probably better to buy from BladeHQ, Knifecenter, etc

Something is up with them. They hosted a Sebenza giveaway and was supposed to announce a winner a month a go but nothing...

I sent an email to their owner(?) Doug Williams i think, was hoping if this was some kind of strange hiccup with their systems or something he would let me know, but no response

They are gone. Out of business, shut down. Doug came by my store Friday. I was sad to here about 888. I owned 888 for many years, from 1998 I think. Sold it to DC. Now it is gone.:(

Man I was lucky to get this Buck 10 before they went under. I had trouble with wobble with the first one they sent and actually had them replace it. Talk about dodging a bullet.

He owes wholesalers all over. That is what I have heard from them looking for DC. They know I have worked with him so I should know where he is. I do not know where he is in this USA. If you have an order at 888knivesrus you neeed to contact your Credit Card Company, fast.

Wow - that's a shame. Used to be a good shop way back when. Dan, I made my first purchase from them back when you owned the shop: a Halo III. I ordered many times from DC and never had a problem. I guess things went bad fairly recently. Hopefully most folks who had orders there were able to get their money credited by their credit card companies.

Take care,
Jim

Due to the various complaints about 888knivesRus listed in this forum, he now has 1 week to contact his customers to redeem himself before his account here will be removed.
For those whom he owes, it is advised that you contact him with your details and if necessary contact your credit card company to do a chargeback or contact the proper authorities.
