8CR13MOV and AUS8 are nearly identical in practice.

All true but the tenacious can be made very sharp due to edge geometry and so on.

Tenacious is great value knife. Holds an edge adequately for occ or light use and can easily be honed back into shape. Only time I have seen an issue with corrosion is while using it while fishing in salt water.
S30V is gong to hold the edge longer, be less likely to rust/corrode and will take more effort to sharpen, but no big deal with the right tools.

I started off with a Tenacious, still use it.......if my Military isnt' handy. I've handled a Para, it's a fine knife, I may get one eventually, but the Military is more my cup of tea. S30V over 8CR13MOV for me. :thumbup:
