9:05 Eastern and the trough is open at the Manor

Even with the older stuff, you can tell that folks are not breaking their legs jumping at the prices being asked. I think we are on the verge of a price correction on all the blades.

Again, I think that it awesome for all parties involved. Seller sells for original price or maybe a couple bucks more, and buyer ends up with a particular blade they may really want or had missed out on.

Now, anyone want to sell me a PD at close to original cost? :p

FLE-bay, is that code for some new Fusion Limited Edition bay knife, maybe for opening fresh oysters or something?

lame jokes aside, aside from those who simply need to sell a personal knife for personal reasons - I could care less if the often-artificial secondary market tanks - I hope it does...

gold and diamonds and other investment grade commodities generally don't have positive utilitarian uses like good knives, and collecting and flipping INFI for profit screws way more people than it helps (IMO).

Yep. I'm on the verge of selling off most of my blades before I start loosing money..I have already liquidated 80% of my collection. I knew it was inevitable because there has been sooooooooo many Busses being produced:(....toooo many ganzaaaaas.. There are still some blades that fetch a good price rguardless of the poor secondary. ie. nick and barf..
I liked it when just owning a Busse was somthing uncommon. I'm now just in it for a few good users and a few precious ones. I'm content...
I just try to ignore all this new stuff....except for that silent knight varient Jerry posted a pic of...... I have to grab that one !

Funny.......... I'm down to the ONE that made me fall in love with Busse Combat, the SFNO. I hope to close with the one I have been bugging Jerry about since before he came up with the protos, the MiniMuk. It's still nice to look and maybe try some out. Maybe one of those thin Satin/Tan ADs.;):D

As a Busse noob, I hafta say the prices on these things--ESPECIALLY on the secondary market--are truly absurd, but the way it goes is that if you want it, you pay what the seller's asking. I am cool with someone making a couple dollars on something they've bought or traded for, but 150$ price hikes over a year or two?:eek::eek:

Now excuse me while I go and list my BATACLE for 700$ :D Thanks

I hear good things from a certain insider.

Thoughts of "matched pair" are dancing in my head.

$150 over a year or two is not crazy to me.
$300+ overnight is downright ruthless....cough SFNO cough...

But, like PG, Ken, Dan and UJ are saying, it looks like a correction in the market is upon us.

Yes...I really want an SFNO, but I doubt I'll be getting one with prices like they are. And that must be a grail blade because according to BARB those things didn't just dissapear...it was like the blinked out of existence.

lol..
BATAC LEs barley even sell for cost....
I always thought any TAC handled blade was FUGLY.

It's just a knife that's not readily available, and is a great design. Supply and demand. If Jerry pumped out another run of CG SNFO's, you can bet you'd see the aftermarket prices coming down. $150 on top of base price for an older blade doesn't seem so bad. Depends on the rareity and condition of the blade as well as the buyer's desire.

I agree with Grant that seeing something popup overnight or very recently after a purchase for alot more is just price gouging and generally uncool with the community. (Basicaly if you buy then flip at alot more just to make money)

In all fairness the SFNO thing was a flea bay original. As I recall, the seller didn't set the price that high, a couple of dueling bidders did, after that it bled over into the exchange here. Not much helping that.

Yeah, tell me about it. :(

Good point, PG. The market dictates value, and if you have dueling interested parties, the value can climb rather quickly.

I'm with you, Dan. I know everyone has a right to put whatever asking price they want on a blade they own, and I don't have to buy it, but flipping and gouging is.....unfortunate.

I'm just jaded because I've missed a few knives I've wanted and seen them pop up for more than they went for, at least more than I was willing to pay. :p

That is absolutely right. No one twists anyone's arm to pay anything. The buyer decides what they are comfortable with and that will dictate the prices sellers will be able to ask. I know that my collection would have never been as big as it was one time if I didn't make a decent profit on some of the pieces I sold. I let many go for retail or darned close to new guys behind the scenes.

Thanks for breaking my heart, Jarvis, though I challenge you to say this:

is ugly. I think it's gorgeous...

& ur upinyun sux! :D:D:D

I'm not putting down your preference towards paticular blades.
I just STRONGLY dislike TAC reguardless if it is a custom, varient, whatever. Resale is nothing special also.. A big part of buying a blade is if it is a good investment for me. I'm still in school and barley have a job so the money I throw around on Busses is limited.

I am a straight handle guy. I like the BAIII , orig. SJ and fusion handles are my favorite for larger blades.
There are so many types of Busses out there so I reserve the right to be picky as hell...
