I got this knife a few weeks ago and decided today to take it out to play. First thing I did to this knife was soak the handle in Linseed oil then applied two coats of thompsons water seal. Im really impress with it and it wont be my last of this type of knife. As I type this I have a Roselli Hunter soaking, but thats for another thread. Great chopper and feels good in the hand. After I was done the edge hadnt changed that I could tell anyway. Hope you enjoyed the pics. Also sno-sealed the sheath
It has a carbon steel blade 9" long, 1 5/8" wide, and .109" thick. The handle is 4 5/8" long,

Man, that is fantastic. What is the blade thickness????

I can see myself doing a leuku soon.

And.......
Ragnar sells the bare blade so you can handle it yourself.
Here's mine

It's a wonderful knife
:D

Caine, I was lucky enough to get one gently used from a forumite. Great knife.

And Ebb, nice work!!

I planned to order one a long time ago after falling in love with puukkos, but I ended up receiving a kuhkuri to test out from another forumite and haven't thought about Lueku's for a while. They seem like excellent designs and I think once it gets a little bit colder and the big knives actually have a reason to come out I'll get one.

I'm sure the factory handle is better suited for chopping...my handle sort of 'evolved' since I'm only learning as I go.
It's OK though, my patch of the woods doesn't allow cutting down green wood, so this one will be used more as a cutter than a chopper.

I didn't mean to steal caine's thunder here :D
Just wanted to show how one can save some $ and with a little effort and get a good knife out of it.

I love Leuku blades, they work really well. Here are a couple my brother did handles for.

Very nicely done as well!

I have had one of these for years and dont use it much because the handle is uncomfortable for me. I love some of these handle alternatives and may have to try to do one or have it done by someone.
