Pick one knife, any knife of your choice, and carry it for 90 days, catch, it cant cost more then 90$.
Rules are simple, that knife can be your only knife that you carry, (not included is camping knives filet knives and butter/steak knives)
What would you choose?

Now no one really has to do this or anything, but i just thought it would be fun, more realistic then those 1 knife for the rest of your life threads, 3 months isnt long, but it can be very long depending on the circumstances.

And hey, if you guys don't think itll be fun thats alright, please don't flame or troll me or anything like that, im just trying to lift stuff up a little, I know how most of the people feel about me here, iv also been having a bit of a rough time IRL lately too, Lost my job on monday so i know what im doing all day every day this week.

If you guys think it'll be fun, sure play along, if you wanna go a step further and actually do this challenge just for fun and giggles then that d be pretty cool, have like updates and show pictures of some of the stuff you've been doing. Like i said though, If you guys think its stupid that's okay just don't flame or troll me about it, you can openly say you think its a bad idea if you feel that's needed too.

Hope some of you guys get some thought or enjoyment out of this. Thanks

Neat idea for a thread! I have done this challenge before, a few times.

My first knife, an SAK with nothing but a bottle opener and medium-knife blade, got carried all over hell's half acre for years and years until I lost it. I don't know how much it cost...It was my only knife until I lost it, so it saw waaaay more than 90 days worth of carry.

I carried the first plain-jane Manix 2 I owned for a little longer than that a couple of summers ago. It cost 80$ and was one damn fine knife until I lost it, too.

I did this with my Kershaw Cyclone as well, but in all honestly I think paid more than 90$ for that first one...

Edit: PICS!

Here's the Manix:

Hello Chris Farms. Sorry to hear about your job; best of luck finding a swift and satisfying opportunity elsewhere.

As for the challenge, I wouldn't need to spend $90. I'd go with a Victorinox Pioneer.

Keep your spirits up, fella...

Hmmm... The next 90 days will be Oct, Nov and Dec, the weather will be nice and cold so I can drop any of the light weight stuff that I wear with shorts, and my PM2 is over $90 so...

Hey man thanks, Ill find something if i put my mind to it. Nice SAK

I've been beating on my Byrd Rescue for over a year now.
I think those things retail for $26

If I had a job it might be different.
But $90 buys a lot of food!

I would find a spyderco native 5 here on the forum for $90. It has been my one and only edc folder for over 90 days now! :) I am a fixed blade guy and I dont edc fixed blades so the native 5 it is.

Im not a spyderco guy.

For some reason I would have a hard time edc'ing any single knife, regardless of price, for 90 days. I'm a one woman, many knives kinda guy!

Well, I don't have too many folders $90 or under, lets see I have:
Buck 110 in CPM154
Manix 2 XL (Got it on Sale for $89 including shipping)
Vic Super tinker
Vic Alox Soldier
Spyderco Ladybug ZDP-189

of those, it would either be the Manix 2 XL (currently one of my most carried knives anyway) or my Super Tinker which I carry in left pocket everyday anyway.

My EDC rotation usually consists of my Izula, CRKT Ryan Plan B and a Strider SA. Count the Strider out for the price, and if I had to decide between the other two, I'd go with the Izula. It's legal where I live and work, so small and light I don't even know it's on my side and it can do everything I need it to from bullshit around the apartment, work tasks and food prep.

Cold steel voyager tanto dad gave me one when I was 18. I'm 31 now. I guess I'd go with that exclude a year or so for my early mid life knife crysis. Who knew you could spend so much on something that cuts.... I do now.

Pick one knife . . . and carry it for 90 days

I really think I could not do that, unless there was some serious incentive. Though it would be fun to try. I can barely make it for 2-3 days at most. I would do it if $200 were at stake.

What might I carry for 90 days under $90?

The Endura FFG, SOG Flash II or one of the Colds Steels like the Recon 1 or Lawman would be top contenders. Maybe a Rat-1. Something with a big enough blade to cut a watermelon or reach to the bottom of a peanut butter jar if I had to, and enough all around utility to handle just about anything.

But the thought of one knife for 90 days makes me shudder.

You seem to have a bad habit of losing knives.

On the topic of the thread, as it happens I'm in the market for a knew knife. Maybe a Delica or an Endura. I've got a couple of Spyderco's and love them to death (Para 2 and Manix 2), but never had a Delica or an Endura for some reason.
