The Stryker is absolutely one of my favourite knife... but most of your cutting is off camera :-) Do it right! do it again!

wow, really struggled with that cardboard.....i think? some of the cutting was off camera.

that said, love my stryker as well. great knife.

That's some pretty extreme next-level carrot batonning you did there. Most folks would consider that abuse of the highest level.

much better. now i could see for sure it was struggling with that cardboard.:) kidding relax. thanks for the follow up.

Yes, the serrations really help start the cut, and the plain half just slides through. When i struggle its usually because i get stuck in a serration.

I know its beed said already, but......"ummmmm"

Packing peanuts? Carrot batonning? Strange.

I'm no "sharpening tests" fanatic, but here are the two things that struck me during that vid.

1) Please stop cutting on a hard surface like that.
2) None of those cuts "sounded" impressively sharp.

I'm sure its a great knife and came very sharp from Benchmade, but that vid didn't express either of those points particularly well. I would suggest watching the videos of some of the sharpening fanatics around here. Look at the crazy materials they use. Listen to the sounds their knives makes while cutting those materials.

I look forward to your next video! Keep on making them!

Ok thanks, I'm always trying to find ways to make my vids better, I will follow your advice. What should I cut on though? I really want to get a para mil and get it extremely sharp, because i know the thin flat grind will work a lot better then a stout spear blade. :)

Paper, Card Board, Hemp Rope, Wood, Meat Filled Boots (Ya' know, the knife testing essential :D)....
Maybe do your tests outside, where it is brighter.
If you can, I suggest you buy the Para-2. You'll love it, and you can do some cut tests on some baby carrots. :)

People seem to love cutting newsprint. They seem to love chopping the tops off water bottles filled with water too.

Toilet paper....seen that. Hair....that's another one. I suppose one could go all "Lynn Thompson."

Me...I've never needed to cut any of those items in real life. Though I must admit I do like the almost silent "swoosh" of a sharp knife through ordinary paper. If my knives are sharp enough to do what I want them to do...then I'm content.

You know what I'd like to see you do? Make a fuzz stick. It's real world and a good test of sharpness.

Or slice a tomato...but just lightly grip the handle of the knife between your thumb and first finger. Those I'd enjoy watching!

Dude....Packing peanuts...why?

That I like! And now, you can take the slices and make a nice sammich! Maybe a BLT.

Lop the top off a plastic water bottle full of water and they what are you gonna do with it? Nothin'!

Somebody will probably complain about the serrations or say "You can't see through the slices"....but it's a good, real-world vid. I sl;ice tomatoes all the time.

Now get some kinda sharpening setup and make that sucker stupid, crazy sharp!

Or....get a carbon steel knife and make a fruit salad! Then you get something to eat AND a cool patina on your blade!

Have fun.
