I was expecting a package today by express mail. Something i've been waiting on for almost a year.

USPS does not know where the package is........

Tracking shows it left Idaho yesterday, and i've been in contact with 3 different numbers for USPS departments. I'm extremely frustrated now. I leave the country in 34hrs, and USPS does not know where my Custom designed CRK went.

A little info on it, i was trying to have it mimic my tattoo, because my tattoo holds lots of meaning and was at an important time in my life. Long story short, I had my tattoo done in Japan during the same trip that i met my birth family for the first time in my life. So there's symbolism galore going around with the design. I'm very much into having personalized things and have them hold some meaning for me. So when i'm about to go overseas for an important interview, only to have my special CRK lost in the mail :mad::mad:

I hope i'll have some pictures up tomorrow with good news. Otherwise i'll forever hate USPS :grumpy:

Having shipped and received a gazillion packages, I've never had USPS lose one. They've been late, but never lost. Have faith that it will turn up. Maybe not before you leave, but that it will be there upon your return.

I get it. We give symbols power and that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Consider this. The symbol is not the thing. Stuff is not what matters. What you need is within you. Have an excellent trip.

It will show up....I have seen this very thing happen many times, and lots of good outcomes. I am keeping the faith for it to show up tomorrow.

I don't know whats going on with tracking at usps but I will tell you on two occasions tracking was showing the package 3 states over while the postal gal was ringing my bell to deliver it.

I had this happen to my Damascus last week it was suppost to arrive on one date and it did not
arrive till about 3 days later, it sat in one place for almost 2 day, I called where it was showing
it was, they did not know where it was, and then 3 days later it was at my door.....So give it
some time and think positive thoughts....It will arrive......

Positive vibes to you man.

I recently shipped a package from Ohio to Idaho(BUCK) and it tooka detour through Arizona??
It arrived one day later than expected.

thanks for all the kind words, i've always liked usps more so than fedex/ups and definitely on trac. The one time i have a foul up with them it had to be this time :( I'm really praying it comes in tomorrow magically. I put off a lot of other purchases because of this knife, and had been racking my brain on a design i liked best. My roomate received a package and my other roomate came home excited thinking i was getting my knife :o , i've been telling all of my friends about it(regardless if they want to hear about it or not) :p

Through the whole ordering process since last year, Jessie has been with, and I know Heather is the queen over there, but Jessie is just as great to deal with. She was super patient

It will show up, I agree with "Professor" in that I also have mailed and received well over 1K in packages between here and ebay with nothing ever lost by USPS. Thats why I use them over the other 2. But, I have had them a day late. Especially recently since many of the sort facilities are closing, so sometimes its taking a day longer. Have Faith, It will show up. Let us know when it does.

I agree that Usps has been most faithful to me, I have noticed a few quirks with the tracking system lately and I think it has alot to do with so many of the offices closing down.

My latest package showed "out for delivery" 1 day after it was shipped, so I called usps to see what the deal was, and they said that they couldn't locate it, got me pretty worried, but sure enough 2 days later it showed up and then it showed "delivered" on the site.

I have also noticed that when most packages took 2 to 3 days to get here it now takes 3 to 4 days...

I paid for the Express Mail though. $20 extra for nothing. I was unsure if i would be putting my car in storage and then staying with a friend tomorrow and missing the mail, that's why i opted for the rush delivery. I'll be going to bed early tonight to wake up bright and early and hopefully get to the bottom of this.

The website still has no new updates, and the person i spoke with last said they would call me if they found anything and i told them it doesn't matter what time of day it is, please call. If it does come a few days later then it'll still be bad, because my roomates are normally not home when the mail comes, and i'll out of the country for 3 weeks, so i'd assume it'd get sent back to CRK. I'll stay positive till tomorrow :p

Yup, all those layoffs and PO closures have really thrown things for a loop lately.

There haven't been any closures in my town, but south of me i heard of about 2 or 3 closing. pretty crazy. Thanks again for the encouragement everyone. See ya'll in the morning hopefully with good news

They have been VERY slow with updating the website. I got a Bark River this week and it said it was still at the sort facility across the country, but I got it that same day. When I went and checked after bringing the package in the house, it said "delivered". Everything is taking an extra day now it seems. I overheard the guy that I deal with at the Post Office say that even overnight is not guaranteed 110% now because of the sort facilities closing in some areas........And thats whats slowing things down the most. Local post offices closing is obvious. But if you live in say, PA, and ship to CA, the sort facility in saw KS may be closed, so they now have to send it to one in NM, so its taking an extra day. These are just examples.

I would check into it because I know with some of express is not delivered when its supposed to be, you get the refund. Its worth checking into. I can tell your upset and I would be too. And, I have been, but its pretty much out of our hands and in theirs.........I still trust USPS the most out of the Big 3.

The Post Office seems to have slowed down significantly as of late. I had an international express package sit in customs for 4 days and out of nowhere it just showed up. I checked the tracking after it arrived and suddenly it had four days worth of movement from New York to Milwaukee to my local PO all documented. Very strange.

Hopefully this is the case with your new CRK and it's simply a matter of lag in the system rather than a lost package right now, Jeremy. Best of luck.

USPS could go back to using saddle bags on horses and I might still trust them more than UPS. People rag on USPS ever time stamps go up. IMO, USPS is a true bargain. I bid on something on ebay recently and only during the pay for it check out did I notice the seller was in Hawaii. I am in Suburban Atlanta. The box arrived in two days for under $5 via USPS. Impressive. Their tracking system is slow and maybe it will improve. Still, their performance is okay fine by me.

Calm, blue ocean
Calm, blue ocean
the knife will arrive

Best of luck, I'm sure it will show up. I have always had good luck with USPS. Once I had a package show as "Delivered" only to have it how up a week later, but it did make it.

Same here. The last dozen or so packages I've tracked have showed no or almost no activity until AFTER they were delivered. Maybe that reflects an view by USPS that they're not offering point-to-point tracking but delivery confirmation. For what it's worth, they haven't missed a scheduled delivery date (which shows up on the tracking page) on any of those packages.
