Happy New Year, Bladeforums! Today I'm selling an REI Edition 940. For those of you unfamiliar with this knife, it is basically a 940-2 with green G10 and purple anodized back spacers to pay homage to the standard 940. These retail at REI for $195 plus tax, and I am selling mine LNIB for $160 net to me shipped USPS Priority to CONUS, transaction via Venmo or PayPal please, read below for specifics.
The knife has seen no use, the edge is factory. The blade has decent centering, locks up tight, and has no play. But, I did set about reprofiling the edge, and a few swipes in, my Lansky coarse diamond stone broke out of the hone handle. I wasn't and am not able to finish, and the knife is still basically wearing a factory edge minus a few swipes and a couple faint hairlines on the show side of the blade that are hard to even photograph from when the stone dropped out of the handle. It's going to be a bit before I have new sharpening gear that will reasonably handle S30V, so I'd rather just have the cash back for now to help with some upcoming travel.
Am willing to trade down (knife + cash from you) for a GEC #33 Conductor.
Thanks!
