I was about to pull the trigger on a 940 but then I read something about the paramilitary 2 that caught my eye. I was wondering what you guys think and please help with my decision. Thank you!

I like the size of the 940 the tips strength is going to be better on it. If that is not a huge issue you get more knife with less money with a Paramilitary 2.

So ... what did you read that caught your eye?

Are you asking what we think about what you read or choosing between them?

A recommendation depends on what you're going to do with it?

I am wonder what you think about the knives. Which would you choose etc. and it's just for edc. Also I was just reading reviews on bhq about the paramilitary and people love it.

All 3 are great for EDC. There's no 'wrong' choice.

For me, the 940 is a bit too expensive.

The PM2 is bigger, more robust, and a better slicer. But some find the tip too thin. For me, it's too big in the pocket. For a 3.5" EDC, I'd prefer the Spyderco Stretch or Caly 3.5.

The Para3 is essentially a downsized, 3" PM2 or, as I see it, an 'overbuilt' Spyderco Delica. The Delica is my fav EDC so I'd go with the Para3 (or Sage or Native) over the PM2 and 940.

Honestly you really need to at least handle both to really know which you prefer. I have had(past tense) both and they are two completely different knives and each has it pros and cons. Para 2 is going to cut much better due to the ffg but it will also be bigger and heavier. 940 is very slim and light and other than the tip not as robust in my opinion. 940 you will forget is there. Para 2 you will know its there. 940 also has tiny omega springs which is a downside for me as they can break(yes I have had this happen in the only one I have edc'd) and will need to be sent it. Both great knives from great companies. But honestly I would get a spyderco delica and endura and have two knives that I prefer more than both. Para 3 is going to be a heavier thicker delica so to me doesn't really have any pros over a delica as you can get two for the price.

The 940 has a much smaller, shorter handle. That means it carries well and has a great look, IMO. For me, it was really awkward to open and close when I was in the store and I didn't do a great job keeping my fingers out of the way closing the knife because of the lack of real estate. I ended up getting a manix 2 instead that day.

The PM3's are available but sell out about as fast as they become available. I finally have one on the way after a month wait.

I really like the sage knives (sage 2 is my current EDC) and it's right in line with the other knives. It's a taller handle than the 940 but fairly close in looks.

Eventually, I'm sure I'll have a 940 simple because I love the looks but the small handle, 3" carry limit in some neighboring cities, and cost over some others puts it further down the list for me. I'm pretty excited about the more budget friendly chaparral coming out soon.

I would pick the PM2 over the 940 and the 940 over the PM3

The PM2 is a bigger knife but if I shall have only one that is the one I will take
It is just the most versatile

The 940 is the best of both worlds: small by the weight, large by the blade size
Idly carry well and can do even difficult tasks

The PM3 may not carry as well as the 940 for a smaller blade

I have the 940-1 and the M4/CF PM2. If I could have only one it'd be the PM2 however I would say they serve different roles. The Spyderco 940 equivalent would be the ZDP189/CF Caly 3.5

For solely EDC the 940. The slim design makes it disappear in the pocket. I still prefer the PM2 though.

If you think the 940 is best for edc but the pm2 is ur favorite, what do you use the pm2 for?

I sold my 940's. It's the feel in hand the PM2 has. I like the PM2 but it's not my favorite. With that said I actually use my BM Ritter more then anything.

All 3 are good choices.

I have both a PM2 and 940, and I love both blades. On days I know there may be lots of cutting involved, the PM2 is best. If I'm just going out to have a nice dinner or in a social situation, I carry the 940 because it looks more like a gentleman's folder and doesn't weigh down my pants. The PM2 isn't much heavier, but it does take up more space in the pocket and has a look to it that would scare most sheeple. I like both, and honestly could not rank them. Like some of the other guys have said, it all depends on your use, and if possible, it would be best if you can find a way to handle them before choosing because each person has a different preference once they get it in hand.
