All right guys, sorry I can't post a pic but I just got in a first production run benchmade 940–2, so far I absolutely love it even though I just got it today, but there is one issue it is not smooth, the axis lock will stick forward when opened and when closing ou have to flick it down, is this normal as far as does it just need to be broken in? All the benchmades I have at before have been used so the axis was perfect

Congrats.

The 940 series is right up there with my all time favourite knives.

I have never had an axis lock stick forward, but I have had them get a little sticky.

Just put some lube in there and I think you should be good.

Congrats on the knife, sorry about your misfortune. First productions are like the first batches of phones.. You win some you lose some.

Luckily, it should smoothen out if you use lube and work at it. Good luck!

Just received a 940-1501 couple days ago and mine did the same thing. I sprayed a little Ballistol in the pivot, let it soak in for a while then blew it out and put a drop of Blue Lube in it. It is perfect now.
Or you can just flick away for a couple days. It will break in and be silky smooth!!
Enjoy.....no pics???

Like with most things, a little lube makes things smoother...

This is a knife I am HIGHLY considering. I didn't even know about it. I've always liked the 940 but not the aluminum handles.

KOD I just got it today but let me tell you the thing is amazing, the g10 feels so nice but not aggressive and like you said it's a 940 with out the weird colors!! Awesome knife I love the green standoffs to it matches well o would pick one up man

I'm thinking hard right now between the 940-2 and the G-10 mini grip w/ 20CV. Will probably go the 940-2 route, and have sketchen put some nice scales on it.

I just received a 940-1501 and it is fantastic also! Great build on this one!

^ Beauty there. Looks a lot better than I thought. Bench made has been hit or miss with its attempts at two tone and colors.

Use can air and blow around the pivot and AXIS studs. Get the little leftover shavings and grime outta the channels. Should be good.

Just looked the 940-2 up. The G10 handles are a great thing for that knife.

Very even and sharp edge and a free dropper, after a couple hours of flicking. Great build and very sexy!!
Thrilled with this one.........now for an LE 943......PLEASE?????
