Hello, I was looking at the benchmade 940 and I really like it. However I wanted to get people's opinions on it and I wanted to know if there are any other knives I should be looking at in this price range (<200$) that also have a 3.5in or less blade. Thanks!

I got my first 940 just over a week ago after eyeing them for a long time.
I love it. It might be my most ideal EDC to date.
You can't go wrong.

No question the 940 is one of the most solid edc choices you can make. I've settled on the 940-1 out of the various ones. The ideal variant in my opinion.

Easy in the pocket. Lots of blade in that handle. It may be my all time favorite EDC knife.

My first was a 943 all black.
Fhe 94x have some of the best blade to handle+weight ratio IMO
The aluminium handle is fine, not too sloppy but it may have better options just as 940-2 offer
I now have a 940-1 which is one of my favourite EDC
Maybe you can have a look at the 940-2 which has offer kind of the best of both worlds with a price not than high as the 940-1 and open frame construction.

If you like a light weight slicer, consider Boker Exskelibur I.
However, if you appreciate good fit and finish, it may not be for you, since that is a hit or miss department for Boker.

Spydiechef is a great option, if you are OK with Ti frame lock.

Best EDC Benchmade ever and my favorite EDC of all time. Definitely check out the 940-2 and the KW exclusive 940-1501 also.
