940 series

I was able to look at a few in the store and pic the best one. One was really off center but both mine are good and centered. I paid a bit more in a retail shop but was glad to be able to inspect them before buying.

I'd send it in to Benchmade for repair Lance,so you can really enjoy you're knife.

I'm planning on sending it in tomorrow actually. I've just been waiting on a new flavor to replace it while it's back home.
The ZT 0566CF is that flavor.

My 940 is my #1 EDC out of anything I own, like others have said it fits in your pocket and you hardly notice it's there, it does have a narrow profile and some people don't like that but I would challenge anyone to EDC it for a week and decide if you don't like it. A little pimping goes a long way so I got some green G10 scales with stand offs from (DOAT) here on the forum, he does great work. The 940 has to be in the top three best sellers of all knives made by Benchmade, the forum poll appeared to show something like that, it's simpley a great design.

One of the best knives BM ever released was the 940, cannot go wrong with any version of the 940.

Bike daddy those G-10 scales look awesome. ( not my kind of color) but wish Benchmade offered G-10 for the 940!!!!

I picked up a new 940 this a.m. and it is the perfect knife IMO. I got a terrific deal on it too. What kind of mods can be done to these?

Congrats.. That's a great knife. I handled one this weekend and it felt nice.
Looks perfect to me..not sure about mods other than clip. The 950 Rift arrow clip would be nice on it.

I ended up collecting these in reverse order. The first was the 940-1, then the 943, and now the 940. They are a great looking set of brothers.

Best pics of 940 series ever, thanks for sharing.

You can mod it as much as you're comfortable with.
I sent mine to a guy who duracoated the handles and liners.
The duracoat comes in many different colors and he can put patterns or designs in the coating.

Then I used some sandpaper to hand polish and round the spine, followed by hand pooishing the swedge.
After dropping it a few times I had to regrind a lower drop-point on the blade.
And yes, the split arrow clip is the simplest and best upgrade IMO.

This shows the color perfectly.

Been using my 940-1 for 3 months and can say its by far my favourite blade to carry just for weight alone!
Its action is just buttery smooth to operate… Blued pocket clip gets that smooth worn look...
Not to mention they are sexy as hell when they come out of pocket to play.

Great pics btw.
