The knife looks as though it's been through a lot but it's still decently sharp and has it's original edge. There is one small chip about a inch or half inch from the tip of the knife. It small though and should grind out on the next sharpening or two. I made sure that you could see the chip in the blade. Obviously the knife has it's share of "patina" but the knife functions like new. Buttery smooth, fires hard, locks up securely, and the blade centering is as close to perfect as Benchmade can do.
