Does anyone have a source for ceramic sanding sheets or discs for a 9" disc grinder? I've been using AO paper and find that that the grit clogs and burnishes the blade fairly quickly (especially in the finer grits). Sometimes burnishing is what I want (before mirror polishes or during edge finishing) but I'd like to try something that would last a little longer.

I don't know if they're ceramic or not, but at the VT Hammer-In Burt Foster recommended "RhinoWet" paper (he gets it from Supergrit). He said it lasts him a LOT longer per sheet than regular SiC paper on his disk grinder.

Aluminum oxide is a ceramic. So is Silicon carbide. If you don't want your paper clogging try using a sterated paper and or use your paper wet. Water, oil, WD-40, and kerosene are a few options. Water had the disadvantage of corrosion. WD-40 and oil add lubrication and reduce the cutting of the paper. Some people are allergic to kerosene. Don't you love life, for every up there is a down.

Ken McFall at K&G sells 3M 9" ceramic discs. 120X and 220X. I bought a box of each at Blade. They're spendy, but I feel they are worth the cost.

I'm also planning on using the Rhynowet that Burt recommended. It's an aluminum oxide on a backing that allows it to be used wet. I currently use Mirka and Klingspor paper on my 9" in the finer grits, and everything over 320 gets about 20 seconds of finishing before all the grit is gone. I'm excited to try the stuff from SuperGrit (thanks Burt!!!).

In case you go to their site, you can only find the paper on their download-able catalog pages. It does not come up with a search on their page.
