9Yr. Old Fights Coyote

CBS TV just said that they will interview a 9 yr. old that fought off coyote. Will wait and watch.

From the CBS interview:

A nine year old boy and his brother were snowboarding on a golf course in Erie Co., East of Boulder. When they got to the bottom of the hill a coyote approached one of the brothers and began circling him. The boy was removing the board and had gotten one foot out of the bindings when the coyote bit him on the right arm. He whacked the coyote and it ran. The boy is now undergoing a course of anti-rabies injections.
 
I saw it yesterday on TV. He was a tough little guy. Those nasty coyotes are vicious, and picked their target, but to no avail. They are truely varmints.
 
At 9 years old, I wonder if he was 100% certain it was a coyote. It could have been a loose dog too, just looked like a coyote. Any further info to suggest the animal was captured or spotted by others?
 
they have been getting more testy where I live too.. a couple weeks ago I was helping my brother clean out his yard n one came up to the fence to see what was going on. literally just stared at us for a good 5 mins and continued on.
