a-1-tools.com legit?

You've given me enough reason to never order from them. I always look for a phone # and a business address, didn't see anything there. Hope you get your knife.

A couple of weeks, no answer to emails, no phone number available?

If you paid by credit card, I would consider emailing them you are cancelling the order and telling your credit card about it.

THAT might get you a response. If not, call your credit card and dispute the charges.

I tracked down your mystery web site to a company in Arizona who acts as a third party to companies who don't want to be known. I am assuming that a-1-tools is an offshore institution.

The company in AR is http://www.domainsbyproxy.com/ - I got there via their hosting service who is www.godaddy.com

The AR company lists a contact number, however they exist to protect the identity of their clients, so you probably won't get anywhere.

I was burnt by a Chinese battery company a few years ago trying to purchase a cheap battery for a cordless drill. Now my policy is CONUS only when it comes to ecommerce.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the advice guys. I sent them an email yesterday stating that I was going to contact my credit card's fraud department regarding the purchase. They finally replied back to let me know that they are crediting my card. No apologies, no explanation...

Based on this experience, and their sketchy nature, I would not recommend doing business with A-1-tools.com.

They never had the knife to sell you. They got your order, told their supplier to try to find one, and if an SRK came in in 6 months or so, they'd send it to you. :p

When in doubt about a company, go the the Good, the Bad, the Ugly, and ask us if anyone's dealt with them. There's too many good, reliable dealers around to waste time with fly-by-nights. For example, take a look at this recent thread: Who's Your Favourite Seller?

I am glad you got your money back!

Shoot; I'm in the same boat- no word from them on an order placed 2 weeks ago. I actually posted pretty much the same question before finding this thread.

More people need to be aware of this fraudulent site, after waiting for weeks with no response; I did a search here to find that my experience has been exactly as described by others here. They charged my card, and then nothing... I have e-mailed them repeatedly, tonight after seeing this thread I got angry and told them that if I do not at least have an e-mail from them by tomorrow I am turning the situation over to my credit card company and letting everybody I know in the knife collecting community know about their practices, but I don't think a refund should stop me from the latter, as people need to know what they are in for when taken by these frauds.
