A-100 in stonewash plain edge available

So you have perfect 20/20 vision, in advance, of all decisions you make? If not, how about giving the benefit of the doubt to Emerson, which has in many ways shown itself to be extremely responsive to it's customers. You are beating a dead horse here - I frankly don't care if you are bothered by this model showing back up in stock. There could be a number of reasons for that to happen, and your speculation as to some ulterior motive is not something I care for in this subforum.

I'm not assigning any ill intent to EKI, and I never said that EKI wasn't responsive to their customers. It's just puzzling why, everything considered, a model would be discontinued only to be reintroduced. If there were production problems with the A100 in particular that are just now resolved, I understand that. If demand for the A100 in particular dropped to a point where keeping them in stock was unsustainable, but demand has suddenly increased, I understand that as well. But as far as I can tell there's no particular cause that would have necessitated discontinuing the A100 nor reintroducing it. If someone else is privy to information concerning why the model was discontinued please share it; that might clear everything up.

I still dont think its right, no matter what the reason to release a Special Signature Series knife in "extremely limited quantities" (yes thats from EKIs website) and when they sell out once they magically come back in stock, then several online dealers suddenly are selling these extremely limited knives for $35 less then i paid for mine. Im carrying a Sig series Tiger right now with scratches all over it for those of you that think because I dont appreciate being mislead by the manufacturer and instantly having my knife devalued that im not cool because i collect knives too.

I REALLY like the A-100. Have 4: 2 SW/plain, 2 black/plain. I bought the second pair after I heard they were to be discontinued. I figured 2 as users, 2 to tuck away. My decision at the time. However, I'm not a bit upset to see them reintroduced. Yes, I'm a collector, no I had no intention to sell them. Good for all the folks that wanted one, but they were unavailable. Hope they enjoy them.

If there is enough demand, maybe EKI will have a special run in colors! They seem to be a lot more responsive to small, specialized runs lately.

Ok, help me out here. When was the Full size A-100 dico'ed? I know the mini A-100 was, but I never heard about a dico' of the big one, and I never noticed it being absent from the website.

The mini a-100 is the only one that is dicontinued on the site. Someone here called them direct and was told over the phone that the full size is discontinued.

Then I would have to take that with a grain of salt, since the Info did not come directly or officially from EKI.

That being said, it kinda makes this thread irrelevant.

It did come directly, albeit over the phone. If anyone has any doubts I urge them to call them personally.

I have no direct info personally.

Iregardless they are back for at least a short time. Grab em if ya want em!

I was also made to understand that only the mini a100 was discontinued. The full size has always been available at their website.

As far as the signature series goes, I think the prerogative lies with EE himself.

My tiger is #25, CSF is #15, Zealot is #48 while the commander is nearly 5k, CQC8 is nearly 4k.

Even the OBS knife which is around 700pieces is very limited for 1900 members.

I would think 100-200 pieces is limited comparing to other models that have serials running into many thousands. So yeah, a few hundred is limited.

Any lesser would make it rarer than customs.

Here is a screen shot from an old thread about the A-100.

Discontinuation confirmed.

So do the new ones have stand offs?

ebidis, the pictures I saw suggest it's a backspacer model as the screws are in the same order as the older ones.

Might have to get a 3rd one. My 1st with custom purple G10 scales was recently sold to a friend that fell in love with it instantly and ditched his Spyderco Sub-Hilt Vallotton. 2nd one with custom Forest Green G10 is in rotation and the 3rd for when another friend begs me to sell mine.

Wow. Must have been a big decision. The A-100 with so much lineage and history behind it.
