A-2 Flight Jackets

One question.
I got this from a Military surplus store.It has that smell to it if you know what I mean.What would be the best way to freshen it up without taking it to a leather cleaner.I tried the laundry frabreeze misted on the lining.Helped some but not enough.Have not tried the regular frabreeze yet.

I've read about that putting foul smelling leather goods in a sealed box that has a few bars of scented soap can help.
