Does anyone use ASTM A-36 steel for cheap home made throwing knives? I've been toying w/ the notion for a while. The point would have to be fairly thick, but I was planning to use 1/4" flat bar anyway. This is the stuff I think you can get from Home Depot. I can get 6' from Granger for a few $.
