A Bark River Smoke Jumper

I finially got the Teddy so here is the picture of my only two Bark Rivers. I am very impressed with both but the ergonomics of the S. Jumper are just amazing. I've already posted this picture in another thread but here it is again. I would be hard pressed not to choose the S. Jumper over the Ted if I could only have one.

It is by far my favorite Barkie, mostly because it does not have such a thick blade, and the convex grind is also much less pronounced than, say, a Gameskeeper.

Since you bring convex grinds up...I can't think of another maker doing them right now. In my readings about the various types of grinds, convex was considered the least desirable but popular with knifemakers because it was the easiest to achieve.

I don't know...these two barkies are really sharp and I really won't have an opinion till I use them enough to have to resharpen. I'm going to assume it's wonderful for these big hackers.

I just received this knife I recently purchased from another forum member. It is my first Bark River and I will say emphatically that I'm very impressed with its weight, balance, and general feel. It is also my first knife with 51200.
So all you Bark River guys, I’d love to hear general comments about the steel and experiences with a S.J. for those that have it.

A Black and Red Carbon Fiber version. I LIKE IT!!!

Did you end up with this black and red handled one?

I make that laminate for BRK and I am looking for a knife with that material on it to show on my table when I set up at knife shows, and I found this thread.

Great looking knife!

Yes I do have the Red & Black CF Sjumper. It's a real looker. The other thing is the sheath for the Smoke Jumper is a lot nicer than the Teddy's. There are similar but the S.J.'s is really nice.
