a beautiful afternoon with my son

Imagine an afternoon with a slight breeze, mid-60*F temps, birds singing in the trees, friendly cumulus clouds in the sky and my 2 1/2 year old kiddo. Doesn't get much better than that.

The great thing is that Corbett's Glen is only a five minute drive from our house.

My son and I hiked in for a bit and stopped at these small falls to hang out for a while.

Max decided that the best way to pass the time was to chuck rocks into the water and comment on the size of the splashes they made. If you look close you can see the rock just leaving his hand.

After dozens of splashes he decided to chill out and get all contemplative.

He had enough of that and headed downstream to climb this old giant.

On the hike we spotted a few big clumps of shrooms. No idea what they were and since I value my liver I decided to leave them be. If they are edible, they'd have made a delicious feast.

Sitting down for a break I spotted a weathered stump not much bigger than my hand. Beautiful in its own way.

Great place to hike and dip the toes on a hot summer day.

I brought along my new Maxpedition 10x4 with a Cocoon pouch. Great stuff for a short trip down the trail.

For the obligatory knife pic, I carried this little guy. I got one for my best man nearly a decade ago for my wedding, liked it so much I got one for myself. I've carried it thousands of times and it's served me well.

Great pics.

These are the days you'll remember for the rest of your life! Great stuff!

Good stuff PBW. The cool thing about digital cameras is that you can take as many pictures as you want, and yet, even they won't be enough.

PB it looks like you had a day like the wife and I did only we rode around in the car. Doug
