A beautiful evening

That's Valley of the Gun, now Gin. Gang guns.

To complete my contrast of a Spring evening with Gin's; our power just came back on after 24 hours. No way out yet, drive blocked with heavy drifts of snow. 57 poles down in Phillips County MT.

Wow! Are you staying warm and fed?

The temp wasn't bad, just below freezing, so the wood burning stove sufficed. It is the catalyst type though, and I believe needs it's electric fan to work best. An old fashioned wood burning stove is tops for these disasters.

We ate bread and peanut butter, and various canned goods. The stove was not hot enough through its double walled construction to fry food.

The real crisis occured last night as the 4 cell mag light went out in the upstairs hallway. The little one, who is sick, awoke and was frightened. SO I had to give up my flash for the hall, which left me with only candlepower to read by.

Our stock of candles gave out. Our battery supply was low. We'll restock these things soon.

Now the problem is the drive- our truck won't make it down.

This week the Sakura trees are in full bloom. It looks a little bit like it has snowed, but really the ground is covered with millions of little pink and white petals.
The cherry trees are totally white and full.
By next week, all of their petals will be gone again for another year.

Millions of Japanese people have taken to the parks to sit and look at these trees.
It is definitely an interesting sight.

So, you're telling me the trees are growing Japanese?

Them aliens you're always talking about are probably wondering just what purpose is served, and what unwritten, unspoken cue brought the humans to the trees?

I think aliens probably appreciate such things. They are just people after all.
ITs not so hard to imagine.
One never loses an appreciation for beautiful things, heck, well made stone knives are still admired in this day and age.
