Hi Guys! :)

Here's the latest knife from my shop.

The details are all in the video (please make sure the youtube settings are on HD, to best see the details). If you don't want to watch the video- the jist of it is: It's a big ass forged 52100 bowie with Sycamore handle. ;)

Thanks for checking out my work! :)

Please feel free to cuss and discuss....

I really like this one Nick, as much or more than any others of yours. The sycamore is WOW!

That is a beautifull BOWIE!!! Congratulations!!! I love the wood handle. I think is "spalted funged maple", is it?

A Hug.

Thanks guys. :)

lcaserapiao- You're close... The spalting in the wood is caused by fungi, but it is not Maple. The wood species is Sycamore, and this particular piece came from a tree in California. :)

Sensational Nick, can't be done better. Particularly like the matching polished areas on the spine/bottom of ricaso and the top and bottom inside radius of the guard. Magic contrast against the satin.

so pretty! Definitely a contender for next year's BB.

Beautiful Bowie, Nick. Very clean.

This is the first piece of spalted sycamore that I've seen. I knew that it wasn't maple from the rays in it but didn't recognize it as sycamore because of the way it spalted. I like it! (Until now I thought that maple was the only wood to have the black lines around the spalted area.)

that is amazing Mr wheeler!!!!very extraordinary knife!! and from the steel wich i prefer!! and that sycamore? just wow!! very very well done!

Thank you fellas! :)

Peter- It makes me happy that there are others who notice the weird little details that are lost on 99.9% of the world's population. :D

Lorien- Thanks buddy--- but I think I'd have to hire out a pro photo for that to even have a chance of happening. :foot:

Gary- I think a handful of the blonde woods will spalt that way. I've seen Alder and Birch that had similar spalt lines. I have bought some Snakeskin spalted Sycamore from Mark Farley at Burlsource, and I love it... but it looks much different than this... I couldn't tell 'ya why though.

Dudley- Thank you my friend! :)

this baby's worth it!

Beautiful. I really like the contrasting finishes on the blade and guard.
That wood reminds of crackle mammoth, very cool piece!!

Really awesome Nick. Do you convex most of your bowies? Seems like most of your mid range knives have full flat grinds, always impressive though

Totally agree Peter...absolutely gorgeous Nick:thumbup:

Cheers Bruce
