I live in the North Florida area and the other day I was way out in the boonies and I ran across this cutlery/music store ( no joke half was knives half was music supplies ) by the name Hendry Brothers cutlery. I stopped inside and it was for the most part filled with your usual selection of United, Maxam, Surgical Steel stuff that one would see at a flea market ( He did have some Cold Steel products and a ton of Case knives ) but I noticed over in a corner he had a nice collection of twenty to thirty BM models of red, blue and black classes. I asked him how he got into BM knives way out in the middle of nowhere as they are a little high end for your average knife buying guy and why he did not have any Kershaws or CRKT lines of knives.
He told me that he mainly sells lots and lots of Case knives ( good ole boys love those little knives with scrimshaw pictures of fish and deer :) ) and would have liked to have sold Kershaws or CRKT's but did not because he said that they wanted large orders in bulk and as a small knife guy he could not afford too. He told me he got into BM because his son had bought a BM and told him how great it was. He told me he contacted BM and that they agreed to sell to him in very small lots as long as he promised not to market his wares at a flea market ( LOL that cracked me up ) and to have his store open for vendor inspection. Anyways he now has a nice little line of BM knives and because of his low overhead I get great prices on BM models and a 15% discount:eek: ! I got a fecas snipe the other day for 54 dollars after taxes which is not bad considering the other two places around here were selling the small snipe for 69 dollars!
